The hospital group is collaborating for the third year on the project, whose aim is to collect sports shoes, foment solidarity, recycle and care for the environment

Arrecife, February 19 2020:- For the third year, Hospiten Lanzarote is joining the ‘Zapatillas Solidarias 2020’ campaign, launched by the Lanzarote Island Government with the collaboration of the Hermanos Martinez Foundation. With its 7th edition, the campaign aims to encourage young Guinean people to take up sport as a path to social inclusion and to develop healthy lifestyle habits in a safe environment.

The Hospiten Group will again help collect sports shoes for the most vulnerable young people from villages in Equatorial Guinea on the basketball and football campus in Malabo and Bata.

Anyone wishing to collaborate can hand sports shoes in at more than 51 collection points around the island of Lanzarote until March 15 2020 or at Hospiten Lanzarote, schools and sports centers. Thanks to the cooperation on the island, a total of 2,200 youngsters in Equatorial Guinea at risk of social exclusion received help in the previous edition and were able to do sport wearing suitable footwear.

The initiative is now consolidated as a recycling and intercommunity cooperation project to bring the people of Lanzarote closer to the vulnerable children and youths in Equatorial Guinea, and the Hospiten Group wishes to maintain their support for this new edition of the campaign to foment the inclusion of the vulnerable and, at the same time, their support of sport in general and the link between sport and healthy lifestyles.

The Hospiten Group is an international healthcare network committed to providing services of the highest quality, with 50 years of experience, which has twenty private medical-hospital centers in Spain, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica and Panama, and more than one hundred ambulatory medical centers under the Clinic Assist brand. The group is chaired by Dr. Pedro Luis Cobiella and attends more than 1,700,000 patients from around the world every year, and employs more than 5,000 people.
