The Cosmetic Dermatology and Cutaneous Laser Unit at Hospiten offers numerous facial treatments. These include non-invasive techniques which improve facial flaccidity and expression lines, to make you look younger without the need for surgery.
Facial Rejuvenescence
Healthy, blemish-free skin, which is well looked after, is something we would all like to have. There are a number of different treatments available for patients who have skin pigmentation problems, producing highly satisfactory results after just a few sessions. At Hospiten, we offer a variety of techniques in order to achieve optimal, younger-looking skin.
Peelings
Glycolic, ferulic and pyruvic acid, trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and alpha-hydroxy acid peelings, stimulate the epidermis by means of skin exfoliation. The goal is to improve the “quality” of the skin by removing dyschromia and therefore improving the texture, as in the case of acne and oily skin, as well as stimulating collagen and elastin production in more mature skin. They are also used to correct superficial fine lines and faint acne scars. Treatment can be combined beforehand with microdermabrasion, which consists of a physical peeling using corundum crystals, which boosts the removal of superficial dead skin cells, and stimulates the epidermis.
Botulinum Toxin (Botox)
Botulinum toxin produces a temporary relaxation of the muscle into which it is injected and is mainly used to treat facial expression lines. Facial muscles are responsible for expressions and their continued use produces the appearances of lines, even when relaxed. The most common lines are those found on the forehead, between the eyebrows, and crow’s feet. Botulinum toxin is one of the most commonly used techniques applied to the face, particularly on dynamic wrinkles or fine lines in the top half of the face. It is also used to reduce excess sweating in the armpit area and the palms of the hand.
Replacement of Facial Volume or Mesoplasty
As time goes by, we lose facial definition due to sagging tissue, combined with an unbalance in the reabsorption of bone and fat compartments. Fillers such as hyaluronic acid (Restylane®) or calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse®) have proven themselves to be very safe, useful tools for redefining the face. They are used to correct lines caused by gesticulation or simply the passing of time. They offer wonderful results for correcting nasolabial and cheek folds, lines between the eyebrows, on the forehead and around the lips, or to increase lip volume.
Hyaluronic can also be applied by intradermal injections to correct fine lines.
