Hospiten has received an award for their professional trajectory in business by the Tenerife Business Association, an organization whose objective is defend the interests of business people on the island and to support the development of the Canaries for the benefit of society as a whole.
The president of the healthcare group, Pedro Luis Cobiella, who received the award at a gala held on Friday at the Hotel Valle Mar de Puerto de la Cruz, expressed his gratitude for the recognition and took advantage of the occasion to mention the quality of the professionals making up Hospiten and who ‘are greatly responsible for making our house a reference in quality in Canary health services and also outside the islands”.
100% Canary in origin and capital, the group came into being in 1969 as a family company at the hand of Dr. Celestino Cobiella, father of the current president of Hospiten, Dr. Pedro Luis Cobiella. Although in the first thirty years Hospiten worked exclusively in Tenerife, in 1999 the group decided to adopt a new strategy that would lead to new markets, both in and outside Spain.
Through this policy of growth and expansion, Hospiten has, after a professional trajectory of more than 45 years, become a reference in private health care in Spain, where it is currently the third largest hospital group in turnover and the group with greater international presence, with 19 medical-hospital centers in four countries: Spain, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Jamaica and over a hundred ambulatory health centers, both their own and associated under the brand name Clinic Assist, attending over a million patients a year from all over the world and employing more than 4,000 people.
