The Hospiten Group renews its commitment to the Cajamar Tenerife Bluetrail 2018

The competition, to be held on June 9, is the highest in Spain and the 102 km Ultra version will cross the Teide National Park

 

Tenerife March 26, 2018:- The Hospiten Group has renewed its commitment to the Cajamar Tenerife Bluetrail, a competition that will take place on June 9 and which, in its ultra version (102 km), will cross the Teide National Park.

The president of the Tenerife Island Government, Carlos Alonso, and Pedro Luis Cobiella, Managing Director of the Hospiten Group, signed the agreement recently at an event also attended by the counselor for Sports, Cristo Perez.

Mr. Alonso stated that, “the values of Cajamar Tenerife Bluetrail and the Hospiten group coincide on experience-based sport and on the commitment of people. We are working together to promote, under the umbrella of sport and healthy lifestyles, values like respect for the environment, emotion, passion, challenge and teamwork”.

Pedro Luis Cobiella indicated that, "with this initiative we reinforce our support of the clubs and athletes, as well as of important sporting events that are held on the island, as is the case of Cajamar Tenerife Bluetrail. In addition, with the development of the cardiology study, we consolidate the commitment of the healthcare group to sport and the importance of its benefits to health and to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases".

The agreement means there will be a discount for all runners inscribed for Cajamar Tenerife Bluetrail on a sports cardiovascular check-up, as well as access to a series of prevention talks to be held in before the race. In addition, the results of cardiology tests carried out on 15 runners in the ultra modality for the previous edition will be presented. The study, pioneering in Europe, was carried out by Hospiten Rambla cardiologist, Dr. Alejandro de la Rosa, and will be presented at the European Congress of Preventive Cardiology and Sports Cardiology to be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia in April as new research in sports cardiology.

The Cajamar Tenerife Bluetrail 2018 will be take place on June 9 with four modes: Ultra (102 km), Trail (67 km), Marathon (43 km), Half-marathon (21 km). The Bluetrail Challenge will also take place in which some fifty people with disabilities will take part. The finishing line of all modalities will be located in Lago Martianez, in Puerto de la Cruz.

Participants can register for the race on the www.tenerifebluetrail.com website and the fees by category are: 120 euros Ultra, 70 euros Trail, 50 euros Marathon and 30 euros for Half-marathon. For the second year in a row, Cajamar Tenerife Bluetrail is included in the Skyrunners National Series along with races like the Transvulcania, Ultra skymarathon Madeira, Ultra Pirineu and Buff Epic Trail Ultra. It also continues to be a qualifying race for the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc®, awarding points for participating in it. Thus, the Ultra will have 5 points, while the Trail and Marathon modalities will have 4 and 2 points, respectively. In addition, the Trail modality will be the Canarias de Ultra Championship (one-off event), which ensures the presence of the best runners in the archipelago at the Tenerife event.
