Hospiten Group has renewed its commitment to the Fred Olsen Tenerife Bluetrail competition which will take place on June 8 with the Ultra (102 km), Trail (67 km), Marathon (43 km), Half Marathon (20 km) and Bluetrail Challenge (for disabled participants) modalities. The president of the Island Government, Carlos Alonso and the managing director of the Hospiten Group, Pedro Luis Cobiella Beauvais signed the agreement today, Monday March 8, in the presence of the general manager of Ideco, Eusebio Diaz.
Mr. Alonso spoke of the values the Fred. Olsen Tenerife Bluetrail and the Hospiten Group have in common in fomenting healthy lifestyles and habits in addition to other factors the organizations share, such as teamwork, solidarity and respect for the environment. Pedro Luis Cobiella, in turn, stated that Hospiten Group reiterates its commitment to large sports events held on the island by means of this initiative and supports the athletes taking part in the race.
The agreement involves the setting up of two workshops, free of charge for runners inscribed for the race, with physiotherapists from Hospiten Group. These workshops will take place on March 20 in the Antonio Dominguez Stadium in Los Cristianos (Arona) and on April 4 in the Parque Taoro in Puerto de la Cruz. The workshop on March 20 in the Antonio Dominguez Stadium at 17.30 is called ‘Prepare your race’. The workshop will cover various aspects like preparation for the race, stretching before and after the race and the prevention of lesions. And the workshop taking place on April 4 at the Parque Taoro is called ‘Exercises to improve your running technique’ and will demonstrate a variety of exercises to run a long-distance race in the best conditions and avoid injury.
