The board of directors and steering committee of the Hospiten Group, chaired by Pedro Luis Cobiella was received in audience by King Felipe VI, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the company, which is celebrated this year. At the reception, Pedro Luis Cobiella reviewed the trajectory of the Canary hospital group and explained the company's growth plans.
Founded in 1969, Hospiten is one of the largest private Spanish hospital companies. Since its beginnings, the company has developed comprehensive, personalized health care based on three premises - a first-rate team, cutting-edge technology and a philosophy of continuous innovation at the service of the patient.
“For those of us who are part of Hospiten, it is an honor to be received by your Majesty on such an important occasion for us as is the celebration of our company's 50th anniversary. Hospiten is a life project of an entire family that began with a clinic in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife), and, with a lot of hard work, has become an international hospital group operating in five countries, where we have been successful in implanting the excellence in health care that distinguishes our country”, explained Pedro Luis Cobiella during the audience.
Hospiten currently has ten medical-hospital centers in Spain: in Tenerife; Lanzarote; Gran Canaria; Costa del Sol and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Madrid, one of the most prestigious cancer centers in Spain and an affiliate of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, and a further ten centers in four countries: two in the Dominican Republic, five in Mexico, two in Jamaica and one in Panama. We have 5,000 employees and an average number of patients attended of more than 1.7 million a year.
