This Monday, August 31, the RC Nautico de Tenerife players began their medical checks at Hospiten in preparation for the new season of the Spanish Basketball (EBA) League, due to start in October, with the ‘Marea’ ready for the challenge with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
Hospiten and the Real Club Nautico de Tenerife have extended their agreement to work together for another year. Technical coach of the Basketball Section, Pocho Jerez, states that “we are very satisfied to be carrying out the initial tests at Hospiten, which will let us see the capacity of each individual player and what they can contribute to the team. We are in the hands of great professionals who will help us achieve the performance we want”.
In this sense, “Hospiten will be with us throughout the season, watching out for us. We will be fully covered and that will give us the peace of mind of being able to focus on the sport and competitive aspect of things”. So, given the current circumstances, “we have drawn up a roadmap, planning a season we want to develop with some degree of normality. We hope we can achieve our goals and compete in safety, meeting the health, safety and prevention measures in place – measures required by the club, the Canary Federation and the Spanish Basketball Federation”.
Pedro Luis Cobiella Beauvais, Managing Director of the Hospiten Group, spoke of the Hospital Group's commitment to sports and especially to grassroots and amateur sports. "Once again, and fruit of our relationship with CB Canarias and RCNT, we are renewing our agreement for the 2020/21 season and supporting the youth teams and young promises of Spanish basketball", Mr. Cobiella said.
The first round of check-ups included players continuing for another year in the Nautical ranks, like Saulo Roman, Jorge del Pino, Fallou Niang, Juan Andres Garcia, Alvaro Gomez, Alberto Hernandez and Manuel Miranda. Jose Quintero, who is joining the EBA team to reinforce the squad this season, players forming part of the agreement between CB Canarias and RC Nautico, David Fischer, Mark Ivankovic and brothers Guillermo and Jorge Diaz Graham also underwent checks.
