Pharmacists in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife celebrated the day of their patron saint, the Immaculate Conception, on November 10. At the celebration, silver badges, collegiate recognition and gold badges were presented to professionals with 25, 40 and 50 years of membership in 2020 and 2021.
At this edition, at an event with a reduced capacity of attendees, with the corresponding health safety measures, tribute was paid to individuals or institutions that have worked closely with the Official College of Pharmacists (COF) of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the development of their welfare and social work.
Among them was the Hospiten Group for its work on the management of the vaccination of pharmacists. Miguel Angel Salanova Chilet, Canary Islands Operations Director at the Hospiten Group and representative of the Association of Private Hospitals, received the recognition on behalf of the health group.
Mr. Salanova highlighted "the management of the College in vaccinating more than 3,000 pharmaceutical professionals, pharmacy assistants and technicians, assigning vaccination centers and shifts that made it possible to keep pharmaceutical services available to patients and users at all times". The Group Operations Director expressed his gratitude for the recognition and showed complete willingness on behalf of the group to collaborate on any action necessary with the College of Pharmacists and its professionals.
The president of the College, Manuel Angel Galvan, spoke during the ceremony of the difficulties the pharmaceutical profession has faced during the COVID 19 pandemic, which has forced the sector to rapidly seek solutions adapted to the new reality we are all living and which do not diminish the care provided to patients and users.
