To promote health and well-being among the Cancun community, Hospiten conducted a series of talks focused on essential health topics during the intense summer heat season.
The program approached common concerns related to the summer season in a journey that offered relevant and practical information oriented to helping the population stay healthy and protected from the risks associated with the warm climate and sun exposure typical of this time of the year.
The event, which started at 10 am and ended after 5 pm, featured interesting presentations.
- The first speaker was Dr. Francisco Javier Arcaute, who talked about pediatric first aid in pools and beaches and taught basic techniques to follow in case of necessity.
- The second talk was in charge of ECOCARIBE. This environmental organization explained how to take care of our planet with small actions that we can gradually incorporate into our daily lives.
- The third speaker was Dr. Concepción Carrillo, Hospiten Cancun’s dermatologist. In her presentation, “Preventive Dermatology for Skin Cancer”, she shared valuable advice to protect ourselves from this pathology.
- The fourth presenter was Dr. Jesús Álvarez Tostado, critical care physician at Hospiten Cancún. He shared crucial advice on how to stay hydrated and follow the basic care steps in the summer season.
- Dr. Aranza Rangel, our last speaker, talked about how to take care of children during the summer.
In addition to the lectures, the attendees of SOS SUMMER enjoyed a bazaar that offered a variety of sustainable products, such as biodegradable sunscreen, recyclable bags, vegan bread, hand-woven dolls, and other goods that delighted children and adults alike.
