The fourth edition of the Popular San Agustin-Hospiten Roca Race was held this weekend in spite of high temperatures. In total, 2,953 people signed up for the event organized every year by the hospital to raise funds for the needy.
As in previous years, Hospiten Roca donated five euros for every person inscribed, totaling 14,765 euros, which was presented to Caritas after the race by the managing director of the hospital.
Also present at the event were the mayor of San Bartolome de Tirajana, Marco Aurelio Perez and representatives of Los Suecos de San Agustin, who the mayor thanked for their collaboration in the organization of the event whilst giving a special mention to the great role played by those participating.
All of the above, together with the Swedish Consul, Ann Ekstrand, presided over the prize-giving ceremony, prizes which this year went to Willy Garcia Jimenez and Noemi Suarez Quintana in the ‘Runner’s’ category, for a distance of 3,000m.
The Popular San Agustin-Hospiten Roca Race is part of the actions promoted by the Hospiten Group to contribute to improving the quality of life of the residents of the islands, particularly of the more vulnerable sectors of society like children.
