Posted on 01-02-2016

Tenerife FC’s second signing this transfer season arrived on the island on Sunday evening. Early this Monday the player underwent the usual checks at Hospiten Rambla under the watchful eye of Dr. Juan Jose Valencia, Tenerife FC’s head of medical services.

Thierry Moutinho arrived ceded to Tenerife FC until the end of the season by Royal Mallorca FC, with whom he played 18 matches in the first half of the Adelante League, 11 in the starting eleven. The newest ‘Blue and White’ player arrived on the island on Sunday evening and early on Monday morning underwent the corresponding medical check-up at Hospiten Rambla.

Moutinho attended the media at Hospiten to speak about his arrival at Tenerife FC and to express his satisfaction, whilst talking about his willingness and eagerness to start work with his new team mates and to be under the orders of Pep Marti to prepare for next Saturday when the club will take on Huesca FC, at 17.00 in the Heliodoro Rodríguez Stadium.

“I played against Tenerife FC once and got the impression of a powerful team up-field, rapid in attack – a quality team.  I’m going to have to earn my place on the field, but I’ve come to do just that”.

He went on to describe his own qualities as a player, “I’m strong one-to-one, I’m fast. I’d like to chalk up more goals because I haven’t scored many so far. I’m sure I’ll get on with the manager, I’ve heard very good things about him in Mallorca”.

“I’m very excited and can’t wait to get down to work. I’ve been told it’s a very young, good team. I can’t wait to meet them”. With reference to the match against Nastic, he said “I didn’t see the match, but I saw a little waiting for my connection in Madrid. It’s a pity we lost, and ended up with only ten players, but this weekend we have to react strongly”, ended the second ‘Blue and White’ signing for this decisive phase of the season.
