There is a good feeling on the Canary basketball project and lots of determination to show the club can play in the Endesa League. That was the clearest message taken from the press conference held to present Nico Brussini as a new Iberostar Tenerife player at an act held this morning at Hospiten Group Head Office. The international Argentinian player was accompanied by the Canary club’s sports director, Aniano Cabrera, and hosted by Juan Jose Hernandez Rubio, Hospiten Group CEO and Pedro Luis Cobiella Beauvais, Managing Director of the Hospiten Group.
“My first impressions are very good, very positive”, said the small forward from Cañada de Gomez. “I think I’ve joined a very talented team. We are still getting to know each other, but we get on very well both on and off court and that’s important”, he said.
Nicolas defined himself as “a player for his shot, team play, passes, rebounds … I always try to do a bit of everything and, above all, what my coach asks of me”, he stressed.
On the other hand, Aniano Cabrera, Canarias BC manager said, “Nico will be with us this season. He has been in Gran Canaria and he’s familiar with the Endesa League. He’s an important addition, although what’s important is the team, all 14 players under Txus Vidorreta. He’ll play an important role in the team and he’s a first-rate addition. He’s a young player with room to improve and grow, I hope he can develop and grow with us”.
Finally, the Canary player spoke about his aims for the coming season. “To continue improving as a player, which is one of the most important things and as far as the team goes, to begin the ACB (Association of Basketball Clubs) well and the Basketball Champions League, but game by game. We know that if we get a good start, it’ll all be easier and the time will come to focus on other ambitions”.
