The Mauritanian health sector visits the Hospiten Group

The Hospiten Group hosted a group of representatives of the health sector from Mauritania at their facilities in Tenerife. The African delegation took part in a common agenda under the title, ‘Mauritanian Inverse mission of the health sector’, organized by the Canary Foundation for Overseas Action.

The goal of the meeting was to share the experience and knowledge Hospiten has acquired over 50 years, particularly in the area of strategies implemented in their international model, exportable to other countries and organizations. The international healthcare network explained the great challenges the company has overcome in recent years and showed the Mauritanian delegation round the various centers the group has in the Canary Islands.

The group visiting the archipelago included the director of Programing, Cooperation and Healthcare Information of the Ministry of Health, Isselmou El Mahjoub, Ministry of Health counselor, Cheikh Boutar Segane, counselor for Employment Hamoud Ould T’Fell Bowbe, managing director of the National Bureau of Medicine and Employment, Moustapha El Ghazwany, general manager of the Nuakchot Military Hospital (NHM), General Ahmed Sidi Mohamed Ely Bouha, deputy dean and lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Nuakchot Al-Aasriya (UNA) and head of the Internal Medicine Service at the Cheikh Zayed Hospital in Nuakchot (CHZ), Mohamed Yeslem Ould Jarroullah, and lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine at the same university and general manager of the Head and Neck Specialty Hospital, Outouma Soumaré.

The Hospiten team, led by the medical director of Hospiten Rambla, Miguel Arriaga, welcomed the delegation and shared some of the lines of work of our international model and showed the more specialized services at the hospital like Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Interventional Cardiology, Endoluminal Diagnostics and Therapeutics, the Stroke Unit, Bariatric Surgery, the Breast Unit and Gynecologic Oncology, Medical Oncology, Minimally Invasive Surgery, the Mother and Baby Unit, the Fetal Medicine Unit, Sports Trauma, the Comprehensive Ophthalmology Unit, Cosmetic Dermatology and Cutaneous Laser, etc.
