Posted on 02-08-2023

The Hospiten Group takes another forward in its commitment to expanding its services and improving the quality of life with the opening of the Liposculpture and Lipoedema Unit at the Hospiten Rambla and Hospiten Bellevue University Hospitals and at Hospiten Tamaragua. This new unit will be headed by Dr. Oliver Doebler, a plastic surgeon with more than a decade of experience in the sector, qualified in Germany, who has performed over 1,000 surgeries specializing in the use of the latest procedures including Water-Jet Assisted Liposuction.

The unit is part of the Group´s Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery Department, which specializes in Liposculpture, Body Contouring and Lipoedema Surgery. In the words of Dr. Doebler, “This unit is dedicated to providing beauty treatment for patients, with natural looking results, combining our professional experience with the very latest technology and procedures, offering safe and personalised care”.

Water-jet assisted liposuction, also known as Body-Jet, involves the elimination of body fat via a soft jet of water which helps to detach and extract the fat cells in a more precise and delicate manner. This, as Dr. Doebler explains, “Provides various benefits for the patient, such as a swifter recovery, less tissue damage, reduced bruising and other complications, as well as more precise and natural results. This all contributes to an improved overall experience for patients who decide to undertake Liposculpture or body contouring surgery”.

Dr. Oliver Doebler clarifies that lipoedema or "painful fat syndrome”, is a medical condition that results from an abnormal accumulation of fat cells, principally in the lower part of the body, such as the hips, thighs and buttocks. It mainly affects women, and is not simply a weight problem. “Medical and emotional support and therapy can be essential for helping people to deal with the physical and emotional effects of lipoedema, and to promote a better quality of life and general wellbeing”, he concludes.

The aim of this unit is to provide individual care and support throughout the process, and to produce a personalised treatment plan, to alleviate the symptoms and discomfort caused by lipoedema. All designed to improve your quality of life and self-confidence.
