MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid and Musica en Vena join forces to improve the time cancer patients spend in hospital

Posted on 10-01-2013

Numerous studies have proven the positive effects of music on cancer patients while in hospital. Music creates an ambience of peace and quiet and trust that contributes to improving the frame of mind of people during the course of their treatment.

For that reason, MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid, in collaboration with Musica en Vena, will offer a concert by the prestigious pianist Federico Lechner. With this piano solo concert, Lechner will delight patients at the center and their families with a selection of his better-known pieces.

In spite of his youth, Federico Lechner is well-known on the Spanish jazz circuit. He has released six records in his own name and has collaborated on numerous other recordings. Throughout his career he has received many awards and, while on tour around the world, he has performed on such emblematic stages as the Rockefeller Center in New York or the Teatro General de San Martin in Buenos Aires.

All in all, a musical date no one should miss, organized by MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid with a single aim: to improve the well-being of cancer patients and their families with an unforgettable musical experience.
